Isidoro Hazbun is a dedicated conservationist and policy scientist from Colombia who’s been working for more than a decade to protect biodiverse regions in the Americas. He focuses on empowering indigenous communities and sub-national governments to preserve their natural heritage. 

Having collaborated with various environmental and indigenous organizations, working with esteemed institutions such as the Smithsonian and the United Nations, Isidoro is committed to making significant contributions to community conservation efforts. He is also a columnist for El Heraldo, the most read newspaper in Colombia’s Caribbean region, where he raises awareness about vital environmental issues.

With degrees from Harvard University and Virginia Tech, Isidoro is currently pursuing a Ph.D. focusing on collaborative governance and environmental bureaucracies at Virginia Tech Center for Public Administration and Policy (CPAP).
